I speak for the overwhelming majority of hunters when I say it’s not about blood lust or antlers above the fireplace. Hunting is about protecting wild places, ensuring the health and longevity of all species, fulfilling our desire to explore, creating lifelong memories with friend and family, challenging ourselves, getting lost in thought, appreciating the cycle of life, and eating like kings! Point being, if you’re not a hunter and ever find yourself engaged in conversation with someone who does, please keep the aforementioned in mind.
"Grab some sturdy paper filters, drop your desired amount into the filter, pin up the edges (like a parachute), and tie it shut with a piece of paracord or any other type of string (dental floss, or even hair ties will work). If you gather water from a stream or river, make sure to get it to a boil or pre-filter, then drop your coffee bag in the pot."
Venison (deer) is an extremely lean meat, which allows it to take on robust flavors with ease. It’s the perfect culprit for a coffee rub, but feel free to experiment with other lean cuts of red meat.
